Jacobs Music is the sole piano sales and service provider to the region’s top performing arts centers, conservatories, colleges and universities. We proudly extend the same level of selection and service to you that we provide our prestigious clients. We are the region’s largest piano retailer, representing Steinway & Sons and Yamaha and have a nationally recognized, Steinway trained, in-home service department to satisfy the needs of either the home musician or the virtuoso concert pianist. We invite you to experience the Jacobs difference.
Once, thirteen piano merchants graced Piano Row on Chestnut Street in Philadelphia. Today, only one survives from that historic era, occupying the handsome art deco store we built in 1937 offering four floors of pianos, featuring Jacobs' largest selection of new Steinway pianos, great service, and an even greater passion for pianos.
Maybe it's the fact that we were founded the same magical year as the Philadelphia Orchestra. Maybe the magic is that we're still family-owned. Whatever the reason, Jacobs Music has endured spectacularly, operated by the Rinaldi family with the same time-honored values on which the business was founded over 100 years ago.
Jacobs Music is more than a piano retailer. We take a leading role in the region's musical community, providing instruments and technical services for internationally renowned artists and music institutions, as well as supporting schools and individuals involved in musical performances and music education. Each year, the company sponsors recitals, master classes, young artist competitions, teaching and technical seminars, and other events aimed at musical enrichment. We also present the Jacobs Music Award to outstanding graduating pianists at area universities and music schools.
The principals of the company Chris Rinaldi, President and Robert Rinaldi, Senior Vice President of Operations actively support the region's musical artists, educators and institutions, and providing them and their students with the finest instruments from the world's most respected manufacturers. Chris Rinaldi serves on the boards of the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra and Astral Artist. Robert Rinaldi actively serves on the board of the Bravura Orchestra, and the School of Music Advisory Board for West Chester University. Gabrielle Kazze Rinaldi, Executive Vice President and Director, Concert & Artist Department - have actively served as board members of The Curtis Institute of Music, Astral Artists, the Musical Fund Society, as well as other arts institutions and organizations.
